The Cloud Doesn’t
Manage Itself.
Neither Should It Have To.

The MSP who migrated you handed you off to a different team. That team doesn’t know the environment. Things break and nobody owns the fix. TechWise manages Azure environments continuously: 24/7 monitoring, patching, backup, security posture, and cost governance, for companies that migrated with TechWise and for companies already on Azure

Talk ABOUT CLOUD MANAGEMENT

What’s Included

Six Things That Break When
Nobody Owns the Azure Environment.

Most Azure environments are managed reactively. Something fails, someone responds. Patches happen when they are urgent. Costs are reviewed when the CFO asks. TechWise takes the six disciplines that keep an Azure environment healthy and applies all of them continuously.

Who This Is For

You Just Migrated, or Nobody Owns the Environment. Either Way, This Is the Fix.

Most Azure environments reach us one of two ways. They come off a migration with no one to own the operational phase. Or they have been sitting on Azure for years with internal IT managing it reactively. The starting point changes. The outcome is the same.

Post-Migration

You just migrated. The migration team is about to hand you off.

For TechWise migration clients, the transition to ongoing management is direct. Same engineers, same environment context, no handoff conversation. For clients who migrated with another provider and are now managing the environment without the expertise that built it, TechWise begins with a full environment review before taking over management.

Already on Azure

You’re on Azure. Nobody owns the environment professionally.

Internal IT is managing Azure reactively, responding to alerts when they come, patching when it’s urgent, reviewing costs when the CFO asks. TechWise takes over the environment with a full cost assessment and governance baseline, then manages it continuously. The bill generally decreases before anything else changes.

Ongoing cloud management is included in TechWise managed IT engagements. Available standalone for companies that want professional Azure management without a full managed IT relationship.

Considering Full Managed IT?

Azure management is included in every TechWise managed IT engagement.

If you’re thinking about outsourcing IT more broadly, not just Azure. Managed IT covers cloud management, security, Microsoft 365, help desk, and more under one engagement.

What Azure Management Covers

What Continuous Management Actually Means, Discipline by Discipline.

Six disciplines run in parallel to keep an Azure environment healthy. Most organizations treat them as annual reviews or reactive responses to incidents. Here is what continuous management of each one looks like in practice.

Operations

24/7 Monitoring and Alert Response.

Continuous monitoring of compute, storage, networking, and databases. Alert configuration tuned to the specific environment, not the default thresholds that generate noise. Incidents identified and triaged before users feel the impact. Escalation to senior engineers who know the environment, not a generic call center queue.

Maintenance

Patching and Workload Currency.

Operating system and application patches tested and applied on a schedule. Azure platform updates managed as they release. End-of-support workloads tracked and flagged before they create compliance or security gaps. Change management documentation maintained for every change applied to the environment.

Data Protection

Backup Policy and Tested Restores.

Azure Backup policy configured with appropriate scheduling, retention, and coverage. Backup restores tested on a schedule, verified, not assumed. Recovery point objective monitoring to confirm backups are completing within required windows. Backup failure alerts go to TechWise, not to an inbox that nobody monitors.

Performance

Monitoring and Optimization.

Compute and storage performance baselines established for each workload. Degradation identified before users report it. Performance recommendations as workloads evolve and usage patterns change. Multi-site and post-acquisition environment integration as the Azure footprint grows.

Security

Posture Management and Threat Detection.

Microsoft Defender for Cloud posture score monitored continuously. Vulnerabilities and misconfigurations surfaced and remediated. Security alerts investigated, not queued. Identity and access governance applied to the Azure environment alongside the Microsoft 365 security posture.

Cost

Ongoing Spend Visibility and Control.

Resource tagging enforced. Budgets and alerts configured. Orphaned and over-provisioned resources identified monthly. Reserved instance recommendations as workload stability becomes clear. Cost reporting delivered monthly so finance has visibility into Azure spend without needing to query the portal.

Common Questions

Questions About Azure Managed Services.

Managed Azure services means we take operational responsibility for your Azure environment: monitoring, patching, backup, security posture, and cost governance. Continuously. Not as annual reviews. Not as reactive break/fix. For clients that migrated with TechWise, this is a direct transition from the migration team with no handoff. For clients already on Azure, we start with a full environment review and cost assessment before taking over.

Azure migration is a project. Azure managed services is the ongoing operational relationship that begins when the migration ends. When the migration is done, your environment needs someone to own it professionally. TechWise delivers both. For clients who migrated with us, the transition is direct: same engineers, same environment context, no handoff conversation.

Defender for Cloud is Azure’s built-in security posture assessment service. It scores your environment against security best practices, surfaces misconfigurations and vulnerabilities, and alerts on suspicious activity. We monitor the score and remediate findings. Not quarterly. Not when it becomes urgent. Every finding goes into a tracked queue and gets resolved on a defined timeline. For most environments we take over, the Secure Score is below 60 at the start. We get it above 80 within 90 days.

Azure Backup stores copies of VMs, databases, and file shares for recovery after data loss. Backup policy that is configured but not monitored or tested is not backup protection. We configure Azure Backup for your specific workloads, monitor job completion daily, run scheduled restore tests, and alert on failures. Most environments we take over have backup configured. Very few have tested a restore. We run the first restore test within 30 days.

Azure patch management covers operating system patches for Windows and Linux VMs, application patches, and Azure platform updates. We apply them on a defined schedule: tested first, applied during agreed maintenance windows, documented in change management records. End-of-support workloads are tracked and flagged before the deadline creates a security gap. If a patch causes a problem in a test environment, it does not ship to production.

TechWise monitors Azure performance by establishing baseline thresholds for each workload and alerting when they are crossed. CPU, memory, storage throughput, and network latency baselines are set based on actual operating patterns, not defaults. Alerts trigger before users report a problem. Monthly performance reports surface workloads trending toward capacity limits or candidates for right-sizing.

Azure cost governance in managed services means ongoing visibility and control over spending, applied continuously. Resource tagging is enforced through policy. Budgets alert the right people before a spending threshold is crossed. Orphaned and over-provisioned resources are identified and remediated monthly. Reserved instance renewals are managed proactively so you are never back on pay-as-you-go pricing without knowing it. Finance receives a monthly cost report by department or workload without needing portal access.

Yes. TechWise manages Azure environments spanning multiple subscriptions, multiple tenants, and multiple entities, including post-acquisition environments where the Azure footprint is inconsistent. We inventory both environments, standardize governance and security posture, and manage the combined footprint under a single engagement. The initial governance work surfaces cost waste that offsets a meaningful portion of the management fee.
