Managed IT · Project & Surge Support

You Have One Initiative.
You Don’t Need a Managed IT Contract.
You Need a Scoped Engagement.

Not every IT need is an ongoing managed relationship. Sometimes you have a migration to run, an acquisition to integrate, an office to build out, or an internal team that needs temporary engineering depth. TechWise scopes it, staffs it, delivers it, and hands it back, with documentation of everything that was built.

Scope a Project

T&M with upfront estimate · No ongoing commitment

Scoped before work begins

T&M with upfront estimate, pay only for what’s used

Defined handoff with documentation

No ongoing commitment required

Project Engagements

Six Project Types.
Every One Scoped Before Anything Starts.

Project and surge engagements cover one-time IT initiatives across six categories. Each is scoped independently, delivered by TechWise engineers, and handed back with documentation of everything built.

M&A Integration

Unified standards and visibility across every acquired entity.

Post-acquisition IT integration covers unified standards, centralized visibility, and vendor consolidation across acquired entities. TechWise maps every IT environment in the acquired company, identifies redundancies and gaps, and brings everything to a defined standard without disrupting the business.

Full IT environment inventory and gap analysis

Vendor consolidation and contract rationalization

Security baseline applied across acquired entity

Identity and access integration: single sign-on and directory standardization

Network and connectivity standardization

Handover documentation: what was built, what was changed

Infrastructure Refresh

Aging hardware and infrastructure brought current, with minimal business disruption.

Hardware replacement, network redesign, and server upgrades are scoped against current infrastructure and future requirements. TechWise assesses what needs to change, sequences the refresh to minimize disruption, and delivers a documented environment ready for ongoing management.

Current-state infrastructure assessment

Hardware replacement planning and procurement support

Network redesign: switching, routing, wireless

Server upgrades and migration

Sequenced delivery, critical systems first

As-built documentation on completion

Office Moves & Buildouts

Every technology layer in the new space, ready before the move happens.

Full IT buildout for new or relocated offices, structured cabling, network infrastructure, workstation deployment, phone systems, and connectivity. TechWise coordinates the IT layer of the move so the business is operational from Day 1 in the new space.

Cloud Migrations

On-premises to Azure, scoped per environment, with data integrity validated at every phase.

Azure and hybrid cloud migrations scoped per environment, IaaS lift-and-shift and PaaS modernization both supported. Data integrity validated at every phase. The migration team transitions directly into ongoing management if needed, no handoff, no context loss.

Environment discovery and architecture design

IaaS and PaaS/SQL migration execution

Identity migration: single sign-on and directory standardization

Data integrity validated at every phase

Cutover outside business hours with rollback plan

Optional transition to ongoing cloud management

Surge Capacity

Temporary engineering depth for a specific initiative, defined deliverables, defined end point.

Temporary engineering bandwidth for internal IT teams with a specific initiative or capacity gap. TechWise scopes the engagement with defined deliverables, estimated hours, and a defined handoff point. The internal team stays in control throughout. When the initiative is done, TechWise hands everything back with documentation.

Defined scope and deliverables before work begins

Estimated hours: tracked, reported, transparent

Senior engineering support at the level the initiative requires

Defined handoff point: work transfers back cleanly

Documentation of everything built or changed

Security Projects

Standalone security work, one deliverable, no ongoing commitment required.

Security assessments, tool implementations, and compliance gap remediation delivered as standalone projects. Right for companies that need a specific security deliverable, not a managed security relationship. Scoped per initiative, delivered by TechWise security engineers.

Security posture assessment : current state documented

Tool implementation: endpoint protection, device management, identity, and data governance platforms

Compliance gap remediation, HIPAA, CMMC, PCI-DSS

Vulnerability assessment and findings report

Cyber insurance questionnaire support

Billing Model

How Projects Are Billed.

Every project starts with a scoping conversation. TechWise understands the initiative, defines the deliverables, and produces an upfront estimate before any work begins. The estimate sets expectations. Work is tracked against it. You pay only for what is used.

Preferred Model, T&M with Estimate

T&M with an upfront estimate, preferred model.

TechWise produces a written estimate before the engagement begins. Hours are tracked and reported throughout. If the scope changes, the estimate is updated and approved before additional work proceeds. You pay only for what is used, not a fixed number regardless of outcome.

Written estimate before work begins

Hours tracked and reported throughout

Scope changes approved before additional work

Pay only for what is used

Alternative, Fixed Fee

Fixed fee, available for clearly bounded scope.

Fixed fee is available when the scope is clearly defined and unlikely to change, a specific office buildout, a single-system migration, or a compliance gap remediation with a known deliverable. If the scope isn’t well-defined, T&M with an estimate protects both sides.

Requires clearly defined deliverables upfront

Scope changes handled via change order

Best for bounded, well-understood initiatives

TechWise will recommend T&M if scope isn’t clear

What Comes Next

No Commitment to Continue.
A Clear Path If You Want To.

Project engagements are complete at handoff. There is no obligation to continue. Many clients choose to. After an M&A integration or infrastructure refresh, the ongoing IT management question becomes real. TechWise can scope that conversation after the project closes, or not at all.

If you need ongoing IT management

Full-Service Managed IT.

One team managing every layer of your IT, help desk, security, cloud, compliance, and strategic advisory, for a predictable monthly cost. The natural next step after a migration or infrastructure refresh. TechWise managed services clients stay an average of 10 years.

If you have internal IT but need depth

Co-Managed IT.

Your internal team stays. TechWise fills the gaps, security, compliance, cloud, after-hours. Every domain formally assigned. Common path after M&A integration when the acquired company has IT staff worth keeping.

If the project is all you need

No ongoing relationship needed.

The engagement closes at handoff with full documentation. No follow-on commitment, no ongoing billing. If the need comes up again, another acquisition, another office, another refresh cycle. TechWise is there.

Common Questions

Questions About IT Project
and Surge Support.

IT project support is a scoped, time-limited engagement for a specific initiative: an M&A integration, infrastructure refresh, office buildout, cloud migration, or surge capacity need. It has a defined start, a defined deliverable, and a defined end date. Managed IT is an ongoing relationship with no defined end. Project support is the right model when the need is specific and temporary. TechWise scopes the project, staffs it with engineers who know the technology, delivers it, and hands it back with documentation.

TechWise bills project engagements on a time-and-materials basis with an upfront estimate provided before work begins. You pay only for what’s used. There is no monthly retainer and no ongoing commitment required after the project closes. The upfront estimate sets expectations on scope, timeline, and cost before any work starts.

TechWise M&A IT integration covers the full technical integration of an acquired company : IT environment inventory and gap analysis, vendor consolidation and contract rationalization, security baseline applied across the acquired entity, identity and access integration using Entra ID and SSO, network and connectivity standardization, and handover documentation of everything that was built. The goal is a unified, consistent IT environment across both organizations without disrupting operations.

Surge capacity is temporary engineering depth for an internal IT team that needs additional resources for a specific period : a major project, a period of high demand, or when a key team member is unavailable. TechWise engineers work alongside the internal team to provide the capacity needed without the overhead of a new hire. When the surge period ends, the engagement closes with documentation of everything completed.

Yes. Project engagements frequently surface the ongoing IT needs of a business, and TechWise engineers who delivered the project already know the environment. There is no requirement to continue after the project closes, but TechWise structures handover documentation so that a transition to managed IT is clear if the company decides to move in that direction.

TechWise cloud migration projects cover the full migration of on-premises infrastructure to Azure or a hybrid cloud model : assessment of the current environment, workload analysis, migration planning, execution, and post-migration validation. Security and compliance configuration is built into the migration architecture, not added afterward. TechWise also provides ongoing Azure management as a managed service after the migration is complete.

Every TechWise project engagement closes with a handover documentation package : a full record of what was built, what was changed, what configurations were applied, and what the environment looks like after the project. The goal is that the client’s internal team or a future IT partner can understand the environment completely from the documentation package without needing to ask TechWise.

Timeline depends entirely on scope. An infrastructure refresh for a single office might take two to four weeks. An M&A IT integration for a complex acquisition might take two to four months. A cloud migration timeline depends on the number of workloads and the complexity of the current environment. TechWise provides an upfront timeline estimate as part of the scoping process before work begins.

Scoped Before It Starts.
Documented When It’s Done.

The scoping conversation is specific to your initiative. TechWise understands what you’re trying to accomplish before producing an estimate.
