Microsoft’s Mobile Threat Defense: Your Guard for Rising Mobile Cyber Attacks – Tech Tip For July 26, 2023

After reading our most recent Tech Tips, you may be alarmed by the rise in mobile cyber attacks (and you should be!). These attacks pose a significant threat to both individual and enterprise users. Microsoft’s Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) is a robust solution though, safeguarding your business’ information and protecting your devices from hacks and malware.

What is Microsoft’s Mobile Threat Defense & How Does it Work?

MTD is an integral feature of Microsoft Intune, designed to safeguard your mobile devices from ever-increasing threats. But how does it do that?

Intune’s MTD integration collects app data from iOS and Android devices and analyzes it to identify malicious activities. If detected, the system automatically initiates remediation via a Conditional Access policy. This proactive approach ensures immediate response, minimizing the potential damage caused by the malicious app.

MTD also keeps an eye on the networks your devices connect to. If it identifies any network as malicious, it sends a notification that tells you whether the risk level is low, medium, or high. Then you can decide whether to revoke that device’s access to certain resources.

Add MTD to Your Business’ Security Plan

MTD serves as a vital security layer for businesses, safeguarding sensitive business data across all mobile devices in the organization. By integrating MTD with security infrastructure, companies can provide their employees with a safe and secure mobile experience, irrespective of where they work.

If you’re ready to bolster your mobile device security with Microsoft’s MTD, TechWise Group can help. Contact us today to learn more about how we can help you protect your mobile devices.
