Ask yourself: Which is cleaner, your toilet seat or your mouse and keyboard? You might be surprised… To avoid the answer being anything but “mouse and keyboard”, make sure to frequently clean both components. Maintenance is key! Not only is it an easy and quick thing to do, but it will ensure a safe work environment and proper functionality of mouse and keyboard.
How to Clean your Mouse:
- Unplug from computer and remove any batteries.
- Use a lightly dampened microfiber cloth to wipe away residue. Be careful not to get moisture into any openings!
- Remove remaining moisture with microfiber cloth.
- Wipe mouse with disinfectant wipes. Again: make sure the wipes aren’t overly damp!
- Remove any remaining moisture with microfiber cloth.
How to Clean your Keyboard:
- Unplug from computer and remove any batteries.
- Flip it upside down and shake it a couple times.
- Blow compressed air in between the keys to remove crumbs and dust.
- Wipe keys and palm rest with a lightly dampened lint-free cloth.
- Remove remaining moisture with microfiber cloth.
- Wipe keyboard with disinfectant wipes. Again: make sure the wipes aren’t overly damp!
- Immediately wipe your keyboard down with a lightly dampened microfiber cloth, followed by a dry microfiber cloth to remove any remaining moisture.
